Section II: NGO Capacity building for gender equality

9. Equipment Fund

Study tours are an important capacity building method to expose participants to other organizations as role models and to inspire them to build their skills and expand their work. CNGO organized a twelve day study tour to India to meet organizations that could be models as Gender Resource Organizations. When this tour was conducted, PNGOs were nearing the completion of their core training events – their skill building phase – and were applying their learning in PIF implementation and in linkage building in their district. The tour helped them see what they had recently learned being actually practiced in other organizations. The tour also consolidated their thinking about their own organizational development. Explaining their work to the Indian NGOs increased their confidence and validated their learning.

Gender Strategy: PNGOs agreed that women members would be given priority to be trained and to use the new computers.
